Iowa Class A CDL

An Iowa Class A CDL covers combination vehicles with a Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) of 26,001 lbs or more, provided the vehicle(s) being towed have a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of more than 10,000 lbs.

What you'll drive

• Tractor-trailers (18-wheelers)
• Tankers, flatbeds, lowboys
• Doubles and triples (with a T endorsement)

• Air Brakes (if your vehicle is air-braked)
• Combination Vehicles

Skills tests

• Pre-trip inspection
• Basic vehicle control
• On-road driving

Notes
