FAQ
Who needs ELDT?
Anyone applying for a first CDL (any class), upgrading Class B to Class A, or applying for an H, P, or S endorsement on or after February 7, 2022.
How do I find a registered ELDT provider?
Use the FMCSA Training Provider Registry at tpr.fmcsa.dot.gov. Only training delivered by registered providers counts toward the ELDT requirement.
How long does ELDT take?
There is no federal minimum hour count for theory, but theory must cover the full FMCSA curriculum. Behind-the-wheel hours vary by program; many ELDT programs run 3-7 weeks.
